What made me happy this week - Mar 27-Apr 2, 2011

After two weeks of dealing with crap at work, I am finally feeling like myself again; this past week has been nothing but happiness and fun.

Didn't get prank on April Fool's Day, yay!

Netflix is producing its own original series - House of Cards starring Kevin Spacy and recently signed a deal with Paramount Pictures, yay!

OMG, driving with sunroof open and sunglasses on, what a new concept. Yes, the weather in Edmonton has finally improved. We even BBQ outdoor twice already!

Finally caught up on all the work responsibilities after being behind for about 2 weeks; completed about 80% of offices moving that is taking place at work right now; although nobody is upset at me for missing deadlines, I just feel better when I am all caught up.

Just had some frozen pork dumpling that I purchased from Save On Foods and they tasted just like how my family used to make them; I am just so happy how improved frozen food had become and how culturally diverse local Edmonton grocery stores had become.

Hardave and I are planning a ski trip to Sunshine; I took a 5 week skiing lesson at Snow Valley and can now stop using the snow plow technique and make wide turns, so I have been official graduated to the beginner green hills. Hardave, on the other hand, picked right back up after not skied for over 10 yrs, so we are eager to try it on a "real" mountain.

Most importantly, I am not sure what to do for my 2011-12 cultural/entertainment/sports calendar; Alberta Ballet, Broadway Across Canada, The Citadel Theater, Edmonton Opera, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Met Opera are all having incredible lined up for their season (Cinderella, Death of a Salesman, The Mikado, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Swan Lake, Wagner's Ring Cycle, Wicked, Wonderland ... etc); I want to see them all but meanwhile I also want to try continue to improve on downhill skiing, learn cross country skiing, horseback riding, sewing and maybe some sort of musical instrument AND at the same time, be careful to the schedule and the wallet ... I just want to say, I love you Edmonton despite your occasional -40 C winter but you have such amazing activities and something for everyone!

Well, one cannot be happy all the time; I am sad about Elizabeth Taylor's passing away. Actually, I don't know of her much and hasn't watched any of her movies. All I knew of her was for marrying 7 men 8 times ... and I am ashamed of myself; one of her husbands die in a plane crash ... She is, of course, famous of her beauty and turned out she had the mutation FOXC2 gene which caused her to have double eyelashes and also gave her so many health issues. She is also a two-time Academy Award winner and an early AIDS activist and that is how I am going to remember her as.
